About

Currently work with early childhood care providers and programs to provide teacher education on social emotional learning, resilience and mental health in order to increase teacher competence and confidence. Our program also provides parent education and individual behavior plans as needed.

Prevention Experience

I worked as a clinical social worker for the Department of Veterans Affairs for 9 years before coming to Start Well and violence and threat prevention was a constant topic in my work. I was trained in threat assessments in regards to intimate partner violence assessments and yearly I would receive some form of Prevention and Management of Disruptive Behavior Training. I worked in home-based primary care, as well as HUD-VASH which involved me working alone in the community, so we would complete yearly safety trainings with the VA police in addition to various crisis trainings. I also worked on inpatient units who had their own version of safety/crisis trainings and PMDB.
