I am a master-level psychologist in the State of Michigan. I work primarily with autistic adolescents who are involved in the criminal justice system.

Prevention Experience

I as involved in threat assessment and protective intelligence during my 30 year law enforcement career. After retiring, I established and led the National Policing Institute's Center for Targeted Violence Prevention. During my 7 1/2 year tenure, I established and managed the national Averted School Violence Database, led after-action reviews of several high profile mass violence events, led a DHS CVE project in Boston, MA, and provided training and technical assistance to communities establishing terrorism and targeted violence prevention programs. Subsequently, I founded and co-directed Michigan State University, Department of Psychiatry's Prevent2Protect program which focused on preventing acts of targeted violence by middle and high school students in Michigan. I am currently the Rural Behabioral Health Institute's Director of Harm Prevention as well as the founder of Straub Consulting LLC.

I am licensed to practice as a masters-level psychologist in Michigan.
I have completed basic and advanced BTAM training.
I am trained in T-SAM, SAVRY, TRAP-18, HCR-20
