Veritable is empowering students with the critical thinking skills to navigate today's complex information landscape—regardless of their school's resources. Information literacy is the most transferable skill students can develop—critical for college success, career advancement, and engaged citizenship. Yet access to these skills has largely been reserved for well-funded schools or college-level coursework. There is more information available than ever before—some good, some bad, and increasingly, some generated by AI. Students need to develop skills to consume information critically, evaluating sources, presentation, and arguments. This is a non-partisan issue that goes beyond fact-checking. Students need to be fluent in the language of information to participate in an increasingly digital and AI-powered economy. That's why we created Veritable—seeking to create a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that brings real-time information literacy education to every student, regardless of background. Veritable goes beyond initiatives focused on policy advocacy or fact-checking by focusing on developing students' abilities to form and support their own viewpoints.
